MEET RACHEL WHITE, PR CONSULTANT & FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Rachel.

Working with music creatives and founders in helping them to thrive and build confidence in telling their stories is why I started House of DIY, the do-it-yourself arm of my PR agency Brick London.

I’m passionate about working with people who want to grow, shine, and be seen, using the clout and potency that PR creates.

I left my job in 2010 (during a recession and in one of the most expensive cities in the world, London!) to start a business I was passionate about and to inject some agency into my life.

I know the resilience it takes to launch yourself as a founder or explore a creative career, and maintain momentum. As an introvert, I’m not a natural-born business-minded person- I never thought I’d run my own business, but I’ve learnt to be quietly confident - the best communicators often are! I’ve found the secret to this is crafting ways of telling your story in your style.

Experience

I’ve been championing creative individuals and brands for almost two decades, as a Public Relations executive and then for my PR agency, Brick, for the past 10 years. I’ve activated brand comms for over 500 brands, starting in food & drink and moving into a mix of music, arts, culture and events clients that I’m so proud of.

At agency level I handled accounts such as the delightfully peculiar Hendrick’s Gin, the international art fair Art London, the innovative technological pan-Asian restaurant Inamo, the award-winning pub group Geronimo Inns, and youth-empowering charity The Anne Frank Trust.

I’m a story-teller at heart, starting my career as a writer, before steering artist campaigns in the vibrant and competitive music industry, to delivering impactful workshops and courses for various partners and educational establishments.

I’ve lectured at the University of West London, teaching across PR, Marketing and Advertising, and delivered talks, spoken on panels and led workshops for platforms such as General Assembly, The Ultimate Seminar, SheSaidSo, Day of the Girl, The Rattle, UnderPinned, Economy of Hours, The University of Westminster, and The Youth Marketing Academy, to spread the word on the power of DIY PR, and to keep my skills relevant and razor sharp.

I place coverage on a daily basis for my PR clients in The Financial Times, The Observer, The Guardian, GQ, BBC, Grazia, Clash, The Wall Street Journal, & hundreds more titles.
